I hand fed my FBT's today. First I pick up the crickets and slowly and calmly put my hand in the cage and rub the crickets on the lips of toads and then wave in it very closely infront of the toads. They took the bait. It was an awesome experience.

My FBT does that too. It took a lot pf patience and frayed nerves, but he accepted it finally. I also got my male bullfrog to handfeed, which is something I would never have believed had I not seen it.

With someone with your experience with amphibians I'm suprised you've never hand fed your fbt's. Yes, its neat aswell with fun,... I hand feed my firebellied newt, fbt's, and green treefrog.

Well, I wouldn't say I've had a lot of experience compare to many people like Andy, and maybe you. But I've been reading a lot about them, from the "Reptile and Amphibians for Dumies", written by Barlett, and "Frogs" by Barlett and Barlett, to my old zoology book and encyclopedia.

It was so cool when her sticky tounge was stuck to my finger:-D

I started hand feeding my FBTs only about 3 days after i got them. I started hand feeding because one of them would skarf down all the crix. i have three FBTs, two of them show no fear when i hand feed, well occasionally. But my third one is very frightened.

I have recommended this before and people talked like its a bad thing, but i dont know why...
