IMO, look around and figure oyut what you like, then either get what you like or some 100% hets that will produce what you like. Less than 100% hets are great if you're on a budget and looking to get several hoping for more than one to prove out.

Personally, I like em all and have recently acquired 6 that will allow me to produce Snows, sunglows and a bunch of mostly visible hets along with some not visibly detectable hets....I know, I just suggested to go with 100% hets.

For example I have:

Albino het for anery along with a anery her for albino = snow, albino het for anery, anery het for albino and double hets.

Albino (het stripe line) along with a Hypo het albino = sunglows, Hypo het albino, albino and hypos

Pastel Salmon along with hypo = more hypo's (not sure of exact outcome)

Lastly, don't have yet but getting a female ghost (hypo/anery)

All these can be mix/matched for other outcomes

Gus has the best locality specific animals, period.

Many of the Boas Gus works with are Central American Boa Constrictors and Insular Boas that have been all the rage lately due to their size and managability. Gus has been successfully producing these for years.
They are diverse, beautiful little creatures with impressive looks and in some cases outrageous colors.

These Boas don't get as big as colombians and would be a great first choice, in my opinion.

If you are more worried about being able to handle the animal, colombians may be a bit more forgiving in that area.. I think the Centrals are still a bit more 'curious' and active, which sometimes makes a new owner think they are somewhat aggressive. Although I would say your Carpet Python probably takes the cake here.. lol

There are plenty of care sheets and information available on the site as well.

You won't go wrong with a purchase from Rio Bravo, I can tell you that!

Take care, Joe Rollo - Bci Joe
