i ordered some crickets from reptilefood.com and about a week later there were tons of flies in the basement, (where we keep the crickets) could the flies have come with the crickets acidentally???????

i suppose it could be a possibility if flies had laid eggs in the cricket bins, but i have never heard of it before, not flies anyhow...

It's possible, but we've had a coupla hundred thousand crickets from them over the past coupla years and never had that problem.

Even if the did, they could have laid the eggs during shipment so I wouldn't make judgment on Reptilefood. because of it.

not likly unless they came in full of magots(fly larvae)
You would have seen maggots if there were any type of eggs or if they were in there from the start. Unless you saw the maggots or the flies escape when you opened the box,, they must be an after the fact thing. They came into your house on their own.
