Beardy question

fishyfish Jul 28, 2005 10:15 PM

I recently aquired a new bearded dragon. He is about 7 inches long (i have no idea how old) and has a tan coloration. A few days ago I noticed that his tail started to fade into a black color about half way down the tail. Is this a problem? He shed a little over a week ago and everything looked to have went ok with that. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

usually when a bd goes to shed their skin will lighten up, and then shed. do not help them remove the skin. but to the tail turning dark, one of my bd's did the same thing and after a few months finally shed it and it is now gone.

Its just unshed tail skin.

It will go soon.

I would soak the dragon and see if there is any unshed skin on his tail. It could simply be dirty but a soak will reveal that quickly.
