its understood that chameleons need either a net or screen cage do to their fresh air requirement.i was wondering if one could build a cage with at least 2 screened sides but have the front panel glass.the reason why i like this setup better is that im afraid that screen or netting will obstruct your view of the animal.i think glass front will make a better display.so what do you guys think?? can it be done or if not can someone reccomend the best material to use that is the most clear.i mean,is there a type of screen that is the best for viewing the chameleon? i have seen setips that use a basic wire cage and i dont like to way it keeps you from focusing on the animal.your eyes drift to the cage front.any ideas

The main problem with glass or plexi is the reflections it will create (for the cham...looks like a constant intruder), and the fact that a cham may try to walk through the glass and paw at it for hours. I find regular fiberglass window screen doesn't really block my view. Use fiberglass out of direct sunlight or it will fray and shed glass particles over time.

I don't recomend you using glass.

I just bought a 260 Gal screen Reptarium for $130 CANADIAN.

With lights on top of the caging, you can clearly see what is going on inside.

If you choose to make your own, Do not use Wire mesh, because it will tear out the chameleons tails. Let us know what you decide to do with some photos.
