Back to the vet

uromagnus Jul 29, 2005 10:03 AM

Luca still has not improved. Very lethargic and not eating. He lost a lot of weight. Today the vet gave him another B12 injection, tube fed and hydrated him. If not improved by monday he has to go back for another feeding and have blood taken.

Doesn't sound like fun. You might find it advantageous to get the vet to teach you feeding techniques. It's not real hard to do and daily feeding/hydrating should promote a better overall condition. Not knowing what else is going on inside your little lizard, gettign calories in there (if they're being processed) is the only way to stave off weight loss and daily attention is favorable over semi-weekly. I've got a macfad girl that has required periodic "maintanence" regularly over the past two months since she laid eggs (gravid WC specimen).

Luca looks much better. He is not his usual self yet but I see major improvement from 2 days ago.

He is drinking some pedialyte and yesterday afternoon he ate for the first time. Just a bit but it was start.

This morn he ate a nice size dandelion green
