Big healthy Female breeders = biggre clutches of bigger babies.
Most people breed hogs to young and there fore have smaller clutches with smaller babies.
PS: also sometimes hibernation will get a female to breed more voluntarily and produce bigger clutches.

Be excellent to each other...and Party on dude!
Big healthy females that are not bred until their third year has provided me with a couple of girls that produce large clutches. They also double clutched with no real effort. My best two producers were exactly as described above. Some of my others were bred at 2 years because they had the size. I kept them separated from males after their first clutch. The following year they produced larger clutches, 5-6 eggs more. Again, they were only allowed to produce a single clutch. Their clutches went from 12-13 up to 19 fertile eggs. This year I have 7 females that could produce but only 2 were bred. Out of the 7 females there are 2 that will be 3 years old, approx, 24 inches, and thick. They should give me clutches of 19 or more next year. Another bit of info on breeding early. I have seen 2 females that were bred very early. At about 1 year. One was mine and it was an accident. Both of those females produced small 2-3 egg clutches for two years in a row. Not likely that they would ever be productive in my opinion. Mine was sold off as "pet grade".
