Blueish Eastern

Oxyrhopus Jul 29, 2005 10:02 PM

Here is a south florida blueish garter. This garter is not to be confused with the blue-stripe garter of the big bend area of Florida. I personally think these are actually more attractive. There is a locale in south florida where they are blueish and only a few miles away in any direction they are greenish. And even further north about 30 miles, they are browish.

Nice looking snake!!! They are called "Florida blues", a color morph of the eastern garter....very pretty. I have a large female thats the same color. I had a dark blue male, but he died in hibernation last year.
