Blew out the surge protector of my Ranco Thermostat- can it be fixed???

Hey,

Lightning struck the house, fried the VCR, DVD player, and the power strip to my Ranco thermostat. Can I wire in another power strip?

Yes, the four screws take those out then you will have the terminals exposed take not how it is wired then follow the same wiring and you should be fine. My concern however is that if it blew out the strip then wouldn't it have blown out the circuits within the Ranco?
