That is an easy one to answer. Let's say you scored a Snow for 1500 bucks,,,,a lot of money but you could buy 5 double het Snow females for less than that and breed them all to that male and produce a lot of morphs including more Snows. If you have a female Snow....well you can only do so much with her. A female Snow or Ghost is still an excellent snake to have, but you can only get a clutch or two from her a season when with the male you can potentially produce several clutches...so he is more valueable. OOOOOOHHHHHH... that makes sense... i thought it was an appearance thing...
Thanx Tom

This is why I encourage people to work with morphs which ar het for other morphs. Morph lovers all love the look of the snakes, but with the money they cost many keepers end up being breeders and many will make their cah back and a profit for years to come off of something like a Snow. However many people who did not do enough research buy a cheap pair of double hets and think they will produce the Snow immediately. Sure...some get lucky and do, but their chances are 1 in 16 of doing so. If you have the cash to buy Anery het Albinos or Albino het Anerys your chances increase to one in four. There's different combos to lead to the same snake you wish to produce but I always tell people if you have your heart set on a project make it your priority, because chances are the year you produce from that costly investment you may be able to buy many other snakes on your wish list with the profit you made. You must also consider possible hets are a losing deal for you, the breeder. The people buying your offspring at a lower cost than definite hets may make out big, but the breeder has to sell at prices below definite het cost because there's just no garuntee it is indeed a het til it is proven. So for double homo morphs always try to work with pairs that will produce definite hets as well as morphs. Sorry to ramble on, but since you mentioned price this is all relative. Snow male bred to anything makes valuable offspring. I wish I had one. If I am lucky I will produce a Ghost this year. I may have to keep it. Tom Stevens
No ramble... actually interesting and very true when you think about it...
