One more pic of the Concrete Ball.

He looks just like mine! My 'normal' has a complete black back, and is really pale in his yellow/gold markings (sorry for lack of knowledge on the technical terms here...I'm a novice, with no clue about morphs), just like that one. When I saw him, I couldn't pass him up - very unusual looking.

EmberBall Jul 30, 2005 01:56 PM

From now on, whey you reply to a post with "that looks just like mine", you MUST post a pic of yours

mandora Jul 30, 2005 06:29 PM

My digi cam is broken. quite broken. I have a blurry pixely picture sent to me by the breeder, taken about a year ago before I went to pick him up. The color is quite dark, but you get the idea. Its attached...

One more pic of the Tangerine.

I know I should have pics...same old story, camera is broken!
Anyways, I picked up a 0.1 that has A bright white outline along each of her "Alien Heads" ( of which none are full "heads", Cinnamon like zig-zagging within any other pattern, her yellow is brighter too, which contrasts well with the black which looks darker. She is a very contrasting animal, colorwise and patternwise. I also found a blurry looking Granite, and I adopted another Granite that has the beginings of a Clowns head pattern. The last is another female i dopted that has the side pattern of a clown but with a partial Jungle type Moustache I have some nice funky looking girls
They are awaiting a 05' RDR Pastel, and can't wait for him to grow up

We produced 2 clutches from him this year. So now the wait begins for his daughters to get up to breeding size, and we can figure out if there's anything going on here.

Looks like a good project, for pattern and dark coloration.

bytheshore1 Jul 30, 2005 06:52 PM

here is a male that i purchased last year but did not have an extra female for him this last season. he has at least 1 1500 gram girl waiting on him this year. i dont really know what to call him. he has extreme granite, black/brown back, and very reduced pattern. he also has about the worst attitude of all my balls. but he eats good and maybe when i introduce him to a mate he will change his demeanor. what do ya'll think of him?

I really like this male! Granite sides, nice black back pattern and very faded head.. I've got one that also has a neck-stripe break (traits to look for in genetic granites apparently)... no flames on sides though... I'm really hoping my female will be genetic... she was just shy of 1500g for 2004-2005 season, but she will be more than ready this season.. probably will be breeding her to my pastel... black-back granite pastels?? Sure hope so anyways!

Here are a few pictures:

I've also managed to aquire a CH05 female that has LOTS in common with my female.. similar granite sides, faded head and also a nice black back.. I haven't received this female yet, but from the pictures, it really ressembles what I have here... this increases the odds that it could be genetic because other similar animals can be found...

if you ever sell the male for $100, send it up here in Canada to ME please

Anywho... Let me know what you think!

Bristen.

what is a drinking project?

coldthumb Jul 30, 2005 10:02 PM

Breeding unproven animals in hopes to prove them genetic.

I'm quite fond of Robert Heinlein's response to receiving his first paycheck and discovering that people are willing to pay good money for a few scribbled words --

"How long has this racket been going on?"

Somehow I feel these words may also be appropriate in today's BP market.

LMAO!..too funny!
I hadn't remembered that,and your right.There is a similarity..hehe..it's "pravda".

"Glory road" hooked me on rah years ago.
It was his paragraph on the fire breathing dragon realism that got me.(of all things)...i've been a dreamer ever since.

and i'll wager...you now know the real reason i named one of my females "Pixel".

I don't think I've ever knowingly read his work. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi. I prefer good ol' non-fiction, short stories, and a few of the classics.

Sorry.

ahh well...just me then...lol...and anyone that saw Starship Troopers. It just trips me out to know how long ago it was he wrote these twisted sci-fi's...One of these days they will finally make a movie out of "Stranger in a strange land" (kind of a martian tarzan story).
