New king --and a worse pun ( for Lindsay )

I was gonna post this guy and say I found him 30' up in a tree in the ANF just to drive Sean nuts but thought that would just be too mean(s).
Actually he's a birthday gift from my wife.
Not bad, huh?

Now that is true love bro, you're a lucky guy. Happy birthday. That is an excellent snake. I have received some snakes as gifts from my wife and family....best gifts I have ever received too.

So light and even speckled. Looks just like the best examples found in books. I only get clothing from my family.

Where did he come from?

Why, 30' up an oak tree southwest ANF of course!
Always look in the trees dude!
May get to cruise there tomorrow and Thu.
If I can swing it that is... I'll call you if it happens.

30' up in a tree huh? That explains why I keep finding them dead on the road. Let me know if you make it up.

but by Keith's and Sean's discription(as well as Krysko's and Means') that's not a "PURE" Apalachicola Kingsnake. The scale pattern does not have the line half way across the scale as in the discriptions by Means and Krysko.....that so many want to believe as "pure". The scale pattern on your snake has a round pale center instead. Again, VERY NICE APALACHICOLA KING!!!!

I was looking for that too. Actually there are some just as you describe and "straight down" but not all are obviously...
