can't decide!

Ok so I've been wanting a snake for some time now and I'm having trouble choosing between a IRIAN JAYA CARPET PYTHON,a HOGG ISLAND BOA and a RAINBOW BOA. I know owning a snake you're going to get bit at least once but which one is least likly to bite and the best for the beginner out of all of those? Thanks

Adam

all snakes can bite. sooner or later your going to get a bite. they are mostly from human error.

it all depends on what you want. i have a jungle python that is great...loves to climb an 'display' himself. i've read the IJ pythons are smaller then the jungles. not sure if they like to climb though.
of the 3 you listed the IJ would be your best bet if your looking at space issues. i have always wanted a hogg island boa, too. i've read the are real docile with handling. rainbow boas are cool too only require a high humidity level.

if you can't decide....get all 3!! just do your homework about each one. also.. you can not house them together if that has crossed your mind.

If you've never had a snake for a pet before those are fairly expensive "beginner" snakes. Most people start off with a Ball Python or a Corn Snake, but if you feel you know enough and can deal with it, then that's your choice. As far as choosing one, that's a tough one. They're all roughly the same price range ($200-$300) Yes, getting bitten does happen from time to time and although it doesn't really hurt, you do tend to bleed. In my dealing with Carpet Pythons I've found that some are relatively calm and some are flat out mean. It's kind of a hit or miss with Carpet Pythons. I happen to have one that snaps alot and it doesn't hurt when he bites you, but you do bleed a fair amount considering he has over a hundred razor sharp teeth. So in terms of getting bitten you're better off with the Hogg Isle or the Rainbow, but those are a thicker heavier snake so you just need to weigh your options and decide from there.
