Leo, my water dragon, is 2', breeding male. He has been quite skinny, and his hip bones show. He is eating a lot, but doesnt gain any weight...at least it seems. I have de-worming medicine (pyrantel paomate) that i used on my Leopard geckos, but im not sure what dose i should give my WD.

Does anyone know????? It says give 5 ml, for every 5 lbs (its for puppies/dogs), but i just gave the Leopard geckos up to .5 CC

I forgot what medicine you use for water dragons to get rid of parasites, I don't remember it sounding like that though. It's a white paste you mix up.. Forget the name.

I've already told her that on another forum, but she wants to use the other stuff and I've never heard of anyone using it on reptiles. She managed to not kill her geckos, so I guess it'll work, but I've never seen a dosage listed.

don't do it! it will probably devistate the microflora and affect kidney function. There is nothing wrong with hip bones showing in fact it's healthier to be thin, this is true for lizards just as it is for people, unless you have other signs of ill health, I wouldn't routinely deworm him, and if you do, use a combination of panacure and metrondiazole.
