First off, royal pythons don't like to climb. it's what they do in captivity but since they roam the termite mounds and grasslands of africa, they won't be found in a tree. a hex is a bad idea for many reasons. to verticle!, no air circulation, not enought floor space (ummm, that again means too verticle), and they don't much like to be reached down from above to grab. might get your self bit. also, the amount of heat loss you'd be allowing by using glass would create bad health and so forth.
how would you heat it? how would the snake be able to change it's body temP? not much difference in one side to the other!
care enough to get the right tank!!! read some books, buy a few videos or call some breeders. your ball would NOT like a hex!
if you want instructions for a vivarium, a really chunk of Ghana for your pet, let me know.
