Hi I plan on building an enclosure. My husband suggested to go to an unfinished furniture shop and buy a cabinet or large bookcase and start there. Not a bad idea get some plexie glass for door take care of lighting fixtures and some venting it's a start. Question is inside? sealing it for moisture. Some one wrote something about melamine. What is melamine and where can i get it? Dose anyone have any suggestions? thanks annie

The cage forum would be great for this some there have done that and for a ratsnake that loves to climb your husbands suggestion is great.
My friend has a texas ratsnake and yellow in a large cabinent with glass dooors he installed its great to look at because the snakes love to climb on the wooden shelves, "branches" he installed.
He got it at a garage sale for a few dollars only had to paint it and install the glass doors. Its heated with incandescent bulbs in those protective guard like "cages" that prevent burn.
