T.A. specks!

ClarkC Jul 31, 2005 03:02 PM

The Tinaja Altas Mountains specks are no big secret. They have
been in Klauber's book for over 25 years. But they are nice little
specks. I've noticed that they vary in color. But some of the
females are a nice bone white. I'm anxious to see how the babies
look.

...show me the jpgs...at least I posted the only crappy one I had...
I agree tho, the secrecy is pointless & unneeded...thats one huge pile of rocks & the access to most of it is horrible....very interesting country tho...lots of human tragedy & history... to wake up on the "Mesa of the Dead" at dawn & watch the sunrise electrify that white & pink granite is truly an incredible experience....
Several of us will never forget one full moon night there when we drank a freeking bottle of tres-generaciones...lordy what an experience

....but they're not triv-trivs.
Sorry no pics; someone else will probably be posting them in the near future.

If it's such a big secret, why was I informed about them over a year ago from a member on this forum? and to think it was the first time I had ever talked to this individual. I was even fortunate to recieve GPS coordinates. How do I know they are accurate? I have been in there and found what I was looking for.
If the people of this so called inner circle secrecy group only knew who spilt the beans. I have no idea why the big secret. It is a huge mountain range, it's rugged and most pople will die hiking before they find one. Ever seen the crosses along the dirt roads? It is the highway of the devil, should be enough to keep most out. It's also not a place for much dirt/sand cruising unless you are looking for cerastes.
It's not convienient, they are not easy to find unless you know where to look. However I have limited time down there and only know one area. However this spring I can guarantee I will just about live there only going into Yuma for supplies. I guess I will be looking for boas now also, however i figured they were there and would resemble Kofas.

careful, boas are not collectible in the Kofas.

Crofab Aug 01, 2005 07:34 PM

I didn't say i collected any just said " I thought they might resemble the Kofas" I am not interested in collecting ANY boas, unless i find a yellow one. Which isn't likely.
