boa with flakey/dry skin

my boa has been sitting in his water alot lately and has developed some white flakey looking dry skin on the top of his head and some on his body.

in short.

help!

Its shedding don't penic its going to happen a lot

Yes, it may simply be shedding. The humidity may be too low if it feels the need to soak for extended periods.

Otherwise, it could be too hot in its enclosure and it's trying to escape the heat.

Or, it may have mites.

Check your temps, and If it doesn't shed within the week (or 10 days), I would guess it is the latter option.

flaking and soaking are bad signs, I vote for mites.

im gonna try raising the humidity.

what humudity should i have for a common boa?
