Sand dust left in the tank

KingGeorge69 Jul 31, 2005 07:28 PM

I reacently took the sand out of my tank for my beardie, and put self stick shelf liners in. My problem is I couldn't use a hose to blast all the sand and sand-dust out so there is still some in. It's not a lot but I was wondering if it will do him any harm, should I find a hose and hose it down ASAP. Or will it be fine for 3 months till he's in his adult home. Please leave some feedback.
Thanx.

How much sand?

it's barely any, it's just some dust on the glass and in the corners on the silicon.

thanx, i am haveing a problem with mites on wood. I think they're mites. they are very very small and white. There are on a peice of T-rex grape vine i bought. How do I get rid of them for good?

I think you can cook it in the oven.

I have heard something like 15-20 minutes at 350 Degrees. While watching it to make sure no problems arrise.

Although, don't take my word on it, get confirmation from someone else or do a search on google for more ideas. Also, clean your tank thouroghly to make sure none stay there and come back to the wood.

Also, contact the Company who sold it to you maybe?

thanx, can the mites live on the rocks. Cause if I clean the tank and wash the rocks, then get artifical wood and vines to put it after it's clean along with the rocks, would that be better than using the real wood again?

Personally I love real wood and living plants. Its up to you.

"The easiest way is to bake them at 350F for 30 minutes. This works fine for smaller branches."
