I'm currently going through the channels to get a venomous snake permit in Georgia. I have the paperwork, and the permit fee is no problem. However, I'm having difficulty finding an insurance carrier for the required $40K liability insurance per snake. I have an agent looking around, but we haven't been able to find a company that will insure me.
I have a couple of burmese pythons, and I use them in presentations for work. I would like to expand these presentations to include one with a venomous snake. Due to the nature of what I do, I will probably have to use a venomoid snake in my presentations. I do not want to get into the whole venomoid debate here -- I've researched it, studied it, and I know the ins and outs of the whole issue. I'm looking for some information out there that can steer me in the right direction. Which companies do this? Who to contact? And if I indeed have to use a venomoid animal, are there any exemptions offered for such?
