Any popped eyeballs?

Jenn_y Aug 01, 2005 08:25 AM

This is really strange, and I have never seen it before, and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice? One of our beardies seems to 'strecth' his eyes occaisionally. they slowly swell out really bad for a couple seconds, then he slowly retracts the.m.. .he is perfectly normal in all other aspects. you know how the black moor goldfish looks? it's like that. what is going on???

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have read that dragons do it to clean their eyes. I have seen all my dragons do it at least once. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that several times.

wow, thats quite a talent your little guy has. if he appears healthy in every other aspect, try not to worry about it too much, if hes doing it when he appears sick i would take him to a vet..it could be a muscle spasum????

Bearded dragons do the eye popping thing to help loosen skin around their eyes when they are about to shed that area of their bodies. Nothing to worry about, unless the eyes stay popped out or become swollen.
