Some freshly shed pics

AbsoluteApril Aug 01, 2005 11:10 AM

This is Jade, my '03 female gtp, she had a prior stuck on bad shed, just shed friday so I snapped some pics. The first one I took in the early AM before I left for work..

Then when I got home, I snapped these two, she's in the same spot just turned around. Now what I want to know is why does she look YELLOW in these pics? She is a nice green shade with yellow only on her sides. I was told to put some saran wrap around the flash to dull it out, which is what I did, but she is still overexposed. Oh well, either I need to be schooled or I need a new camera (this is an olympus 2.2 digi)

I tried to mess with this one a bit in Adobe, but still looks way too yellow. Anyways, can you see the white flecks on her sides? Wonder if those will disappear or turn color?

And here's the male, Malachite, this was a pic I took last month. Obviously the tub he is in was way too small, he's in one twice as big now... but good pic, shows coloration almost accurate.

And here he is in the larger tub from below... I just misted him in this pic and he ended up shedding about 3 days later.

Well.. thanks for looking and all opinions are welcome!
-April (who does not appear in any of these pics.. next time!)

LOl..Nice looking snakes, but you are right they do come out looking a little yellow in the picture. Still, must be neat to own them. Has her attitude changed since she has shed? For the better? For the worst?

Inquiring minds want to know. . . .

Attitude wise she seems maybe a little more calm, not snapping right away when I open the tub anymore... but that could just be her finally getting used to her new home too. She'll still strike at you for looking at her funny!
You know you want one Fred!!
I had the male out last night (with a hook, I'm not that crazy) and he was fairly calm although I could tell he was hungry. Lucky for him it is feeding time tonite!

I came close to getting some about four years ago. Greg Maxwell; he of all things Green Tree Python, made the transition from being an Indigo breeder,to keeping Chondropythons. So I fiured that I could do it also. Then I watched my friend get bit, and uh..uh..hesitated...lol Actually, I am rather enamoured with Corralus Caninus(Emerald Tree Boas) I figure if your going to get tagged you might as well do it PROPER!
Have to love those teeth!
So..fuzzy morph eh? You grow hair on that snake and Ill pay you handsomely(Cause then I can find out the secret and grow hair on my head also!)

LOL

Those are nice looking animals April. I usually take a white piece of paper and hold it in front of the flash so it kind of deflects the brightness yet still keeps the colors true. That's how I took all of mine that are posted here.

The best way to keep the picture from being fuzzy is to hold the camera still while taking the picture The paper over the flash does work well. Depending on the camera you can try the different flash settings, on mine the redeye reduction works great with my ball python. The strobe effect gets his attention and freezes him in place every time.
