my male western makes odd barrel roll movements at time any ideas

We need a little more info to give you a better assessment. Assuming you are not confusing this behavior with the death feigning behaviors of hognoses.
How old is it?
Wild caught or captive bred?
What are the temperatures in the tank?
What are you feeding it (and source of the food)?
Have you ever supplemented the food with vitamins/minerals?
When was the last time it ate?
Has it ever been to the veterinarian?
Has it ever been tested for internal parasites?
Has anybody used any kind of cleaners or fragrant chemicals in the house?

The source of this behavior could be extremely varied, everything from nutritional deficiencies to severe brain infections. I can give you my opinion to the best of liability as to what is happening, but chances are you will need to visit the veterinarian ASAP to get it checked out. In the meantime, quarantine it away from the rest of your collection, change out the substrate and bleach out the tank and furniture.
