Joe is the author of numerous books and scientific papers, including the "Bible" of North American Herpetology, The Peterson Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians of Eastern and Central North America. Joe is also the founder of The Center for North American Herpetology, an organization promoting the preservation and conservation of North American Amphibians, Crocodilians, Reptiles, and Turtles through education and information.
