reticulated collared lizards in situ

rdbartlett Aug 01, 2005 06:26 PM

firstly let me apologize for the color rendition. These are slides and my scanner seems about to die.

The male was found basking on a shady rock on a 105F day in southwest TX. The female was skittering through the grass in s-TX.

They're wild. If not endangered, reticulated collared lizards are at least protected. Too bad, it would be really cool to be able to get cb babies.

saw every other Crotaphytus morph of the USA here and thought that a pic of reticulatus was in order. Cheers/Dick

Howdy-what part of south Texas, I hope to study these, Randy Cordero and I have a proposal for their study, I live just outside San Antonio, we will be doing population density counts
as well as mapping the eastern most range of these. Would you send me a private e-mail back as to the county and approximate location, does not need to be detailed or even close, these lizards have been sghted in 11 counties but much of this has not had any GPS or other documentation so we hope to document every site. Thanks!!
