The baby bcc passed away....thanks for the help from all though. How to preserve for necropsy?

Thanks to Gus of rio bravo, sun king etc for all the help that you did with the skin trauma the other day, for unknown reasons the bcc passed away today.

What is the best way to preserve her for necropsy? Freezing until tomorrow? or refridge?

Thanks
Hunter

Sorry to hear about your baby boa. You'll want to refrigerate it ASAP, but DO NOT freeze it. Freezing damages tissues/organs, rendering them impossible to evaluate postmortem. Again, sorry for your loss.

Destroys the tissue. You always want to store in refrig if possible.

Put her in the fridge last night, dropped her off to the vet this afternoon. Necropsy was performed tonight on premises. Will have results in the morning. The vet, who is an awesome herp vet, is doing it free of charge.

Thanks to all who gave best wishes and their help.

They showed that there was a large mass or cancer underneath the heart. Also, the kidneys had shut down.
