Josh,
...The Rainbows which are commonly called Guyana Rainbows have been imported in moderate numbers from Guyana and sometimes surrounding countries for quite some time. So far this subspecies has not been offically recognized. The importers initially called them Epicrates cenchria crassus though that lable is incorrect. Crassus' range is a long long ways from Guyana. Most of the Guyana Rainbows offered for sale are imports. Captive breeding is not common for this subspecies because the subspecies is still imported in large numbers and so captive breeding of them is not financially smart. Guyana Rainbows are smaller than the commonly available Colombian and Brazilian Rainbows. Typical adullts are 3 to 4 feet long. I have never seen one over 4 feet long though they probably do exceed 4 feet at least a little. They can be kept exactly like you would keep a Colombian Rainbow with temperature in the cool end of the cage in the 70s and in the warm end in the 80s. These temperatures are warmer then required for Brazilian Rainbows. Both the Colombian and Guyanan Rainbows seem more tolerant of temperature extremes than BRBs. The humidity for Guyanan Rainbows is also not as critical as for Brazilian Rainbows. Newborn baby Guyanan Rainbows are smaller than other subspecies. The ones I had started on small mice like the other subspecies.
Good luck,
Jeff
