My females average 4, while the males are 9 or more. When I first got my probing kit, it said 1-3 for females but I've never had a Ball probe that shallow.

My females probe in anywhere from 2-6 scales (I have one that's 7 scales I'm still trying to figure out!)

My males tyically go in 7-10 or more!

Hope this helps,

Jessy

I found this link the most helpful.

http://www.pythons.com/probing.html

Remember push the probe until you feel resistance then STOP!

Also, too large a probe may get stuck partially inserted giving you a false female reading and too small a probe could hurt the delicate tissue in that area. Fun right?

Good luck..sometimes you have to jump in and swim to learn.
