Black Tail

fishyfish Aug 02, 2005 12:52 PM

I posted a few days earlier about my dragon whos tail was black, and got responses saying that it was probably unshed skin. Well i've recently noticed that it only turns black at night. After reading about another dragon turning black and dying (im very sorry) im starting to get nervous. Several baths have lead me to believe that it is not unshed skin, and the fact that it only goes black at night confuses me. Is this normal? Or is something wrong? All advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

A picture would be more helpful. It could be dark bands of coloration on the tail though it usually is in bands more than any length of the tail (maybe quarter inch or so wide bands). If you are concerned it's something else, take it to your reptile vet just to make sure.

the black tail is nothing to worry about. it is just something that they do. just like mine, when hes mad he turns real dark but when hes happy he almost turns reealy light like real light yellow. and when hes in the freaky mood his whole til turns black to attract his mate.
