I was outbid, and although I REALLY like the cage, I'd like to know its value before I make another bid. What did they go for when new? I wish the company was still making them...
Thanks!

Hi.
I'd say that at 55 bucks the deal is over. May I make a suggestion?
Check out www.herpcages.com
That's Doug Barr, and anyone with BARRS cages will tell you that they're great. So is the turnaround time and customer service -- you'll get your cage in a week or so, not months. BARR'S has a 24 x 12 x 12 cage that's wonderful. I have three of them.

There is a reason why the company is no longer in business.
It has a great deal to do with the current competition.
No it doesn't.
There are plenty of archive forum threads all over the place that go into detail about the substandard business practices, poor quality product, unfulfilled orders, and unreturned phone calls the last owners were providing. Then when things got intense and frustrated customers were complaining the guys ran away.
That's why the cages are no longer available.
And there is no argument. Do a bit of searching and you'll find some of the stories, right up to and after the guys head for the hills.

Thanks for the input Bill and markll. I'll look at the archives, and see why they went under. I like the angled cage design, and really like the show and arboreal cage designs they came up with.
The company originally went out of business and then sold the business because other companies came along that made better cages for less money. The same reason most companies go out of business.
The guy who bought the company recently was doomed before he even started. I know, because I talked with him.
