Albino Speck.....

jlassiter Aug 02, 2005 06:12 PM

I just acquired this female.
It is an albino, somewhat checkered Speck.....
Can't wait to start on all the Splendida and Holbrooki projects in the next few years......

Hey Tom....what do you think an albino, checkered whitesided Holbrooki would look like? Or a whitesided checkered, Lavender whitesided Checkered or.........or.....or....LOL
Fun stuff....

Hey! That snake was no where near that fat when it left here LOL! Glad it is eating for ya. I am gonna feed mine tonight for the first time. I think the double morphs in Specks will be a lot of fun, but these White Sides need to get off the ground too. I emailed Terry V today to see how is doing with them as of late...waiting for a reply. ttyl Tom Stevens

The night I got her home she ate 7 small adult mice.......
I just need to find her a male....I think that yellow/orange one Todd has is a female too. I think we need to get it probed to be sure......
And....There is always Daytona!!! Maybe a male Lavender albino Speck would pair up nice with her for next season.......HMMM...would those make double hets for lavender and albino?? I wonder what a double homozygous albino/lav speck would look like? Albino? or different?

she's a "GORGEOUS" albino speck,lol,
just having some fun and thanks for sharing!

jlassiter Aug 02, 2005 06:34 PM

LOL.....
But you may have something there....The checkered speck that was posted on here last week or so was said to have Splendida influence by some....I am not quite as sure as them though.
I also remember FR stating that they could be pure Holbrooki within a certain locale.....
I think Holbrooki and Splendida intergrade so much sometimes it is difficult to find pure strains of each.....
Kinda like Easterns around south Georgia and Northern Florida.
Thanks for the compliments,
John Lassiter

I believe the checkerboard pattern speck naturally occurs in Mo.
pure sub. or intergrade i don't know.
and if i'm wrong about this i'm sure someone will try to correct me,lol!

jlassiter Aug 02, 2005 07:36 PM

I will not disagree....I think you are correct.
I think Lavender checkerboards would look nice too.....
OR whitesided lavenders.......
