Need feeder pigs and jumbo rats....

CHEeeEZZZ Aug 02, 2005 07:15 PM

I cant seem to find a place where i can get medium guinea pigs and/or the biggest rats out there. Both my burm(5 ft) and my retic(6.5 ft) are at the point in their lives where they arent ready for rabbits just yet, but one large rat doesnt fill em up. Im not really into paying shipping costs and making huge orders, so I was hoping someone may have something in my area. Im in southern nh so anywhere in nh or mass would be fine. Anyone know of anything??? thanks alot

I'd say get over the mail order thing as you don't have a choice.
My local herp shop is $8.95 each for jumbo rats. My smallest burm eats 4 at one shot.
It's better to find a dealer to ship cheaply. Or sorta cheaply at today's prices.
You can buy rabbits cheap enough. Probably cheaper than guniea pigs or locally bought jumbo rats.
I'll admit, chipping costs have gone sky high. I'm in Connecticut, and I've found local farm that sells rabbits and chickens, for a bit more than if I bought them with shipping. Lokk around up north there, you'll find something.
I also don't know of many that feed guniea pigs.
Bug rats, and rabbits...the bigger burms being fed pigs too.
Hogs...not the guinea type.
Try RodentPro...you won't be disappointed.., and it'll still be cheaper than your local pet shop
