muffin Aug 02, 2005 09:05 PM

My collard has Parasites. I went to the vet about 6 weeks ago and he gave me medicine for the parasites. As of today she still has them. How do I know if the food I’m giving her, which is super worms I believe, have parasites? This is the only food that she would eat. She stopped eating crickets a while ago. She not getting any vitamins or supplements. Do I gut load my worms, If so how do I do that?

Hi,
What kind of parasites are you talking about? If you are talking about mites, I take some vegatible oil and give the mites a thin coat. I am not sure what to do about other parasites, but other people here will.

Good luck,
Morgan

well, what did you do when you found out she had parasites, did you clean everything in the cage, throw out the sand, wash the rocks and what not? my vet always tells me to do that.
i think, but may not be 100% correct, that if the lizard is under alot of stress they have a harder time getting rid of them. what parasites were they and what medicine did he give you and how did he tell you to dose it? i know i have been given medicines before that required me to give it to them once or for a week and then i had to repeat it in two weeks
