What Are The Minimum Dimensions Of A Terrarium For An Adult L. t. nelsoni?

Daniele Aug 03, 2005 03:45 AM

I have a 24" X 12" X 12" terrarium that is currently not being used, and I'd be using an UTH connected to a thermostat, aspen bedding, a large water dish and some vines and a branch. I might add that the cage would be kept impreccably clean as I only have a few animals... Would this be acceptable?

Thanks!

IMO 30 x 12 floorspace is better for an adult. It depends on the size of the individual. Some male nelsoni can get 4ft. A 4ft snake may be a little cramped in 24 x 12 area. My opinion anyway. You can certainly try the cage and see. You'll know if the snake looks cramped.
