Hello. I have a 2-3 month old bearded, CB, and from a good dealer. I have been told many times and read many things that their very friendly and easy to care for. However, this one attacks. And I mean attacks...she jumps to bite when I reach into the cage and hisses. She only started this about 2 weeks ago...I take her out at least 3-4 times a week, but now i have to hold her with a glove and she still won't calm down. I read that as they get older they will chill out, but can someone give me any ideas? Did I just get an "evil" dragon?
Thanks

i have heard of some nasty dragons. i can imagine it mine is always so friendly. he does get a little grumpy some times so instead of trying to pick him up i just talk to him and walk away then go into the cage a little more each time. i don't know if that will help but i would give it a try.
Hope this helps a little
Kay

My female is also evil. She doesn't like to be held a lot and is 2 years old. Some calm down with time, but not all. Try working slowly with it.

I have had a couple that were really mean as babys. The one I have now is about 10 months and is still very mean. After I hold him for long enough and pet his head very nicely he calms down, but I have to go threw that w/ him every time. My other one didn't calm down til he was almost a year and a half. With regular handling he did. There are ways to hold them with out being bit. The smaller one still gets me sometimes though. I would say there is definitly still hope for your little beardie w/ regular handling.

My wife has one with a major temper problem at the pet store she works at. She has been working with it daily to try to get it to calm down a little. We had one before so she knows about the care etc and has actually used it as a teaching tool for some of the people that come into the store. This morning she called to tell me that it was on her head and actually starting to calm a little... this comment was followed by a yell as it left her head for her shoulder and then bit her in the ear... talk about timing. She is worried that they may not be able to sell it or that it will be purchased by someone that will not care for it. I have a feeling it may end up at our house before too much longer!
