How long of a duration would you need to hold it in an area to be sure to kill Crypto? Can I assume if it kills Crypto it will pretty much sterilize against everything? Thanks.

Yes, a quick run of the steam cleaner wand across your plastic tubs and enclosures should be safe, as you do not need to steam the surface for an extended period of time to disinfect it, just a few quick sweeps over and a few seconds are all that is needed.
I spray my HDPE enclosures down with 2% Chlorhexidine solution, allow it to sit for a few minutes, run the steamer across the interior and exterior enclosure surfaces for a few seconds, wipe with a clean dry cloth and have not encountered any problems for the past ten years.
While Cryptosporidium serpentes can devastate a collection, it is actually quite rare to encounter such at epidemic levels and steam is one of the most effective methods of eradicating the pathogen…

Rubidus are doing very well, as most of them have already taken F/T unscented pinks for their last three meals and have completed their second shed. Unfortunately, they will all be ready to go to their new homes within a couple of weeks!
It's hard letting go of these little guys..
