I personally own two females and one male and have great success. My females have laid five eggs in two years. Four of them hatched. I have read and heard many others needing at least a couple males to have good success. The competition often starts the breeding process. My little guy doesn't need the competition though. I would think he is an exception. Do you own some adults or are you looking to purchase some? I have a hard time myself finding addtional adults. They are hard to come by.

I don't have Malacochersus, but I'm thinking of buying an adult group.

A few days ago have offered me a reproductor group of 1.4. But since they have this reputation of being so difficult to reproduce, I me am thinking it.

For the topic of the incubation of the eggs it is for what I do not finish of deciding.

Is it difficult?

I don't know if all the specimens come from the same geographical zone.

Do you know to that age / size they reach the sexual maturity?

Thanks

Consider yourself lucky. I have a very hard time finding adults. Especially in Ohio. Assuming I had the money and it was a reasonable deal, I would jump on it.
Two of my adults were CB in 2000. They breed regularly. The other female I have is of unknown age. They seem to breed like rabbits. The eggs are pretty easy to hatch really. I am four for five. The only bad egg was the very first one that my youngest female laid. I have a Hovabator incubator and it works like a champ. As you mentioned the only drawback is the low number of eggs produced. I usually get three a year per female. I think that rate would possibly go up if I had another male to give some competition. I love my pancakes and highly recommend them to anyone that can afford them. Then when you get a few babies............you'll be hooked!!!! They are adorable!!!

If I can be of any additional help please let me know.

Thank you pavochavo for his help.

I believe that I am going to acquire this breeding reproductor group, his commentaries have encouraged me very much.

I want to have them in house.

I expect not to have problems with the reproduction.

Thank you very much

Jose

Hi,
I know this is kind of off topic. But I just bought a juvenile Malacochersus. Could you give some ideas about habitat, diet for this tortoise?
Thanks,
David
