Now that I have her online I have to show her off
She was found in July of 2002 near a ranch way out in the country by some kids.
Somebody raised this girl from a baby, fed her who knows what & caused her to pyramid badly. Then someone used her for target practice & shot her with a gun 3 times. You can sort of see some of the acrylic work the vet did on her shell in one of the pics. Her bullet holes were covered to help them heal.

Long story but she ended up with us & now we just adore her. She weighed 9.1 lbs then, today I think she's passed 50lbs. We weighed her in April of this year she weighed 48.7 lbs then but she's had 3 months to graze so I'm sure she's passed 50lbs now.

She has a desert home with 1/2 an acre covered in Bermuda grass with all sorts of broadleafed greens to graze. I didn't expect her to grow so fast but since she has a setting as close to her native land as you can get in the USA, I suppose that's why she's grown faster than we expected. I don't feed her, I don't need to she has what she needs out there without my help.
The vet thinks the growth is fine because the pyramids are flattening out. The vet declared her to be the most healthy sulcata patient that she has so I guess we've got it right for her today.

btw that shiny spot on her right side that you can see in the 2nd photo where she's by the shrub is acrylic.
It's been almost 2 years since that last acrylic was placed on her shell, it's just now starting to wear off. What's under the spots that wore off is healed shell. It's looking good.

Very nice pictures. Now you need one with either you or DH next to her so we can get some perspective.

Here's a little bit of perspective. I found some of the photos from Destiny's first 2 weeks here, including day one.

She looks tiny compared to the weenie dog but today she dwarfs him. pffffft now I need a new pic of the 2 of them, I'll get one soon.

Picture #2 of her by herself is how she looked when she first got here. Horrible, just horrible the poor baby
