Piebald gods smiling down on me!

msalem Aug 03, 2005 12:03 PM

In 2001 I purchased a 50% het pied female and a 100% het pied male from Professional Breeders and I finally got to breed them this year and she laid 7 huge eggs on June 13. Two of the eggs had no veins and so I only had 5 left. On Aug 1 4 started to pip and yesterday they finally came out of the egg. I got 3 piebalds and 2 50% hets out of the 5 eggs (I couldn't ask for better odds)so I just wanted to thank Steve and Karen Osborne from Professional Breeders! I will post pics soon and a few questions. Below is a picture of the 50% het (who is now a proven 100% het so I have to change my signature to 1.2 100% het pied and add the babies) with her 7 eggs. Thanks for reading.

Hello,
Just to let you know in the midst of your excitement, the two normals that hatched are 66% hets and not 50% hets. Hopefully those poss. hets are females, and you can prove out two more in a few years.

Congrats Again,

Awesome results in your clutch, congrats! The Possible hets you have are actually 66% ers not 50% because both parents are hets (so you've proved) this makes the normal appearing babies 66% likely to carry the Pied trait as well... Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.
