Baby racers hatched today

LaHerper Aug 03, 2005 02:10 PM

Well a few months ago me and a freind were messing around some trails and i lifted up a tarp underneath it was a nest of about 20 eggs i brought 6 home and last night all of them hatched and turned out to be little racers. I've kept WC grown racers before but never a clutch of babies, so can i keep them together? and for how long before they start to devoure one another? how long can they feed off there yolk so when should i give them their first meal?

Yes they can live together and shouldnt eat each other, i have had millions of baby black racers.. Feed them after there first shed... most will take skinks, anoles and fence lizards..

Yes and try young adults also and ground skinks, or any small lilzards.

Where are they from? What kind of racers are in your area. They all look alike as babies so I was curious as to what they might be. Try crickets.
