Hi

My friend has a trio of monkey tailed skinks and i wanted to get 1 or 2 but how come u never see them and when u do y are they so expensive? O yeah could yall tell me about their care.

They are expensive because they can no longer be imported at all. Care and breeding is fairly complex and if and when you do find a compatible animal they only produce one maybe two babies at a time and the babies cant be separated from the parents for a few months. All those factors make them available few and far between therefore raising the price and I predict the price will continue to rise as the LTC adults start dying off from old age . I am fortunate enough to own 3.6 of them right now (3 groups of 1.2) and any babies I get will hopefully from a 4th & 5th group of unrelated animals.

I for one am glad to see the importing stopped. It was hell on social animals like them to be separated, and export conditions were horrible.
