How often to replace the bark in a boa's cage?

calgecko Jul 16, 2003 05:01 PM

I have a friend with a Boa, and they are curious how long they should wait before changing out the bark in the cage.. it's apparently becoming rather stinky..

Thanks!

I would say that your friend should clean out the poo each time the boa deficates and add more bark as needed. Its hard to say how often you would need to completely change the bark. It depends how well you clean out the poo each time. If the cage still smells a couple days after the poo is removed change all the bark.
