RIP Scooter 1996-2005

SalS Aug 03, 2005 10:34 PM

I didn't post here a lot, but I wanted to post one final tribute to my first bearded dragon, Scooter. He passed away tonight. He was with me for 9 wonderful years and was a great lizard.

The two pictures I wanted to post of him is the last one I took of him and one of my favorites.

The effects of old age starting showing up last year, he was a little slower in catching crickets and didn't eat as much.

When he was younger, I would leave the top of his cage open and he liked to crawl out and bask on the windowsill. It was hard to get a picture of this, because when I would enter the room he would bolt back to his cage.

Im so sorry for the loss of your friend Scooter, im sure he was a great lizard. None of us are ever really prepared for the end when it finally happens, but hopefully you can take some peace in knowing that you gave Scooter a great life and he was an extremely happy, and lucky, beardie.

People think I'm nuts when I talk about my beardie's personality. But they certainly do have them! Scooter was a magnificent beardie and I especially appreciate his tail. My husband bought mine from a pet shop to surprise me...and didn't realize poor Zilla had part of his tail missing.

I'm sorry for your loss. Pets are family too!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Take comfort in knowing you provided him with a nice, long, happy life. 9 years is a great achievement, and it shows the level of care you provided.
He was a beautiful boy.

Stare at me with empty eyes and
Point your words at me
Mirror on the wall will show you
What you're scared to see
I can see, yeah, wish I couldn't see at all
I can feel- Wish I couldn't feel at all
Hate to see- Wish I couldn't see at all
Hate to feel- Wish I couldn't feel at all
So climb walls,
Thin my blood now
And I crawl, back to bed now
