lighting

with my snakes to regulate the temps i use a dimmer switch on the heat bulb is this ok for the uv bulbs?

I wouldn't put a dimmer switch for your uvb bulbs at all. A simple timer is all you need so lights go on and off automatically to simulate natural light/dark times (ie 14 hours light/10 hours night).
