Anyone in the Hemet or Azusa area of SoCal? I want to hit up some roads for Tantilla after a warm “monsoon” rain. Please post if it is raining in that area. If it is I want to take a night drive to see what might turn up.

I live in Azusa, but there isn't any rain this way. We had some rain last week but thats about it. Let me know what you have planned

For months now, I've been focused on finding a California Black-headed Snake (Tantilla). One person suggested that I night drive roads following a summer rain. Well, makes sense to me as tantilla like humid, moist conditions, so I thought if it rains I'd give night driving a try in the mtns or valley.

I have lived in Azusa my entire life and never herped it, never knew too much about where to start. Could you email me and give me a little information, don't have to be specific just maybe get me started in the right direction.
