I have been breeding bearded dragons for 2 years but added 3 sahara uro,s to our house hold about a month ago.my question is i was told by the shop were i bought them it was ok to add cabbage to there diet and they took to it great.but now i find out its bad for them they have been eating it for about 3 weeks and show no ill effect.they have been taken off of it and switched to alfalfa bokchoy and peas .will this have any long term health effect on them.i alo read that they should not be housed together.there in a 50gal tank and they are fine together.

Don't worry about what they've eaten in the past, just make sure they eat right from now on. I would start fixing it by adding more variety to their diet. Begin with a base of turnip and/or mustard greens. Then come the veggies like green beans, peas etc. Give them a small dish of dry food like birdseed (no sunflower seeds) and lentils. For an added bonus offer them dandelion, hibiscus, clover and nasturtium blossoms.

As for keeping them together, keep a sharp eye out for aggression. It can happen at any time.

Hope this helps.

I agree with JimG, though I'd like to add that the aggression could be passive and not as obvious as you might think. Also, if there's two males, there will probably be a time when they will not get along.

I've also read to go real easy on the peas. My Mali used to love them, but my saharans don't really touch 'em.
