It's all in acclimation. If they acclimate well, they should have no problem cycling and breeding. The first few months are key. I know it is hard, but human contact should be avoided at all costs. Once they have been in captivity for 6 months + I would start working with them. Give them fresh water every 24 hours ( without disturbing them ). If they don't eat P/K or F/T give them a large live Rat Pup. Yes, I had a few 4ft.+ animals start on Rat Pups. I would avoid chicks or alternative food items because you don't want them hooked on something that may not be readily available to you. Give them choices in their enclosures ( Hides, substrate ( I used a bunch of newspaper sheets that I half way crumpled ), temperature gradients ) If your enlclosures have glass, or acrylic viewing areas, cover them with newspaper or something similiar. If you keep their stress levels down, they acclimate quicker. Plain and simple. Also, the smaller the animal, the quicker they acclimate
