Eggs!

FMJKID Jul 16, 2003 06:39 PM

I think my anole has laid some eggs. Here is a picture of them. http://www.vulgarballcaps.com/maybe-eggs.jpg They don't look very healthy. I have two green anoles one displays a red dewlap quite regularly. Is possible these aren't fertilized?

Any help would be great.

Thanks Chris

Sorry man, but you're right. Those eggs aren't fertilized. It's too bad...but soon you will probably have some that are. Just wait for a while, and I am sure that you will get some good ones.

Don't forget to feed your female calcium supplements to make her bones and eggs strong.

Is it possible for a female to lay eggs without copulation?

yup. It's quite possible for females to lay eggs without copulating. Has she laid any more eggs yet?

She's laid 3 more over the past two weeks.

IF you end up finding some fertilized eggs, put them in a small container filled with moist vermiculite. This will help the eggs from drying up and you will soon see babies. Keep them near the heat lamp so they are not too cold, too.
Good luck

Good luck!
