feeding question....

inthedeep2 Aug 05, 2005 09:54 AM

hello
i have a mexican black about 4months old around 16''.
my question is how much should i feed him a week i am currently feeding him a f/t pink. after i feed him he is always active. is he looking for more food? there is really no buldge in his stomach area or anything. should i feed him 2 pinks at a time or would this be too much?
what are some of your feeding regiments?
thanks
eric

I'm no expert but I have a 5 month old brooks, whos around 17 inches long and initially i was feeding him 2 pinks every 6 days but that simply didn't satisfy him so I've moved up to a furry about every 4 to 6 days depending on the size which was worked beautifully to date, I've found if my snake is acting hungry then he is hungry. Thats just my two cents anyway.

i feed my year and a half cali king 2 fuzzies every 6 days. i would try feeding him 2 pinkies every 5 to 6 days.

If your MBK is 16 inches long you could try fuzzies. 1 pinkie once a week won't satisfy him. If you have a surplus of pinkies then feed him multiple pinkies , but from my exp pinkies only take them so far , i have a cali king i was feeding multiple pinkies cause i had over a thousand for some damm reason and only 8 snakes eating them. He was big enough for fuzzies but i decided to feed multiple pinks to get rid of them. His growth slowed to a snail pace. I have taken her off pinks now and fed her fuzzies and now she's up to crawlers twice a week. Hope this helps Paul
