What differences do you see in the way your turtles behave?
Shell E is the one who's been here 5 years, she thinks she owns the place. She's very alpha for a female. When she encountered Hobo the extremely alpha male the other day, she was about to open up a can of whoop--- you know what on him lol!
Shell E is the one who taught the dog to never mess with a turtle, he wouldn't stop licking her head so 5 years ago she bit his tongue! He's never bothered another turtle since that day.
When SHell E firt met Charity the giant girl they were in the pen that had been built for Shell E. Charity was in Shell E's spot so Shell E made her move!
Shell E isn't ever going to live full time outside because she's missing so much of her carapace that she can't close up.
When she's in the house & allowed to roam the turtle proofed area, she doesn't just roam she marches.
Charity is very shy for such a big turtle. She's skittish & wants to be left alone except for feeding. She & Shell E both have a thing for shoes though, they like to climb on shoes.
I've said a lot about Hobo & Janie because they're so new here but Janie the bold really freaks me out with her demands.
Shell E will see Janie sometimes, march over to her, smell her then go the other way. I guess another female is fine with her but Hobo had better keep his distance because Shell E does NOT like him being on HER property.
They're so funny, I live in a state of perpetual awe of them because each one is such an individual.
What differences do the rest of you see in your turtles?
